Week 2 in Camarillo

Well, I’m still trying to get adjusted to the new area, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. I’m slowly starting to get to know the two wards I’m covering and the work is picking up. The more I figure out about this area the more excited I get about it. I’m still trying to discover a balance by working between the two congregations, but that will come in time.
Camarillo is beautiful, but it truly is a lot harder of an area to work in than Bakersfield. Things are going good here though. We got a phone call last week from a guy who wants to be baptized and that should happen soon. We have helped reactivate some members already and are working on helping other less active members reactivate. There really is a bunch of potential in this area. We’ve been visiting a bunch of part-member families that are starting to open up and we have recognized that there are quite a few non-members attending church that aren’t meeting with the missionaries yet. There is a lot to be excited about.

Not only is the missionary work starting to do well here, but the church members here have done a very good job taking care of us. We’re invited over to dinners every single night. Just the other day after teaching a lesson to someone in a member’s home, they gave us a 30 pack of full-sized candy bars. Needless to say, things are going pretty good here.

Anyway, hope all is good back home and I look forward to hearing from ya’ll!
